The Battle Of Self Image
By T Crosby ( livin4hm )
We constantly measure ourselves against media, stereotypes and other women we know. Sometimes I find myself scanning the public for someone who might be more attractive than me. Do I look like that in a dress? Am I thinner than she is? Maybe I should be eating a salad.
This battle we know as self image is constantly being measured by society. Look at how the magazines promote women today. If your not a size 6 then your fat! Sorry magazine advertisers but this size 14 woman is not going to settle for eating one bean a day, I take care of myself and exercise regularly, and I love the word voluptuous!
We need to "live with color" as women. Do you love who you are? Is there any reason why you shouldn't? Looking in a mirror I use to see imperfections. I seen failures and I seen guilt, I saw physical scars that went beyond the image I seen in the mirror. I found out why my color was fading.
Be beautiful! Let go of the past and you will see your self image shine. It's about your smile not your style. It's about living with a joyful spirit and the dance that's in each step. It's your choice. You can win the battle!
